customers love how cold the beers are

After 2 year everything is good, but...

Owned this sandwich prep for 2 years now. I replaced an old True sandwich prep that gave up after 15 years. You can see some improvement in the new model. True refrigerators are usually very solid and this one is no exception. But... Just after a few months I noticed some rusty liquid in the drain pan, something is getting rusty inside the fridge and rust get carried in the drain pan. That's not a good sign, I inquired with True willing to provide pictures but they don't even bother to reply. But wait, there is more: every few months or so we find a discharge of water inside the cooler, seems like condensation system can't drain properly, it happens in summer or winter, very randomly.

I would buy this again and again

We use this in our food truck, gets up to 36 degrees quick and holds the temp no matter how much we open the door. Great refrigerator we also have the matching Freezer and -4 all day no issues whatsoever.

I would not buy this again

I ordered and payed more for the True Bar Cooler based on the reputation of the brand name. I use this in our wine bar for beer and other beverages. From the beginning it rattled, vibrates and is extremely noisy when it goes through a cycle of some kind. Now I have pools of water in the unit for an unknown reason, we haven't done anything different in the last 2 months. I have removed all the beverages from the bottom for easy wipe up but lost a lot of space. Calling the Tech companies to service the unit has been challenging as it is their peak season and don't have the time to come and fix it. Not sure how returns work but this is a lemon.

Works great, looks great, roomy

I am using this in a restaurant bar. It works wonderfully, looks great, and came with lots of counter space on top. The only drawback for me is the thermostat, it's old school (not digital) and tucked into the corner inside where it is very difficult to read. I had to purchase one that I could attach outside to be easily readable.

Nice cooler delivered timely in perfect condition

This GDM-26 was purchased for residential use to replace a GDM-23 that lasted for many years. An entirely online transaction. Katom put the unit in the hands of the shipper the same day as it was ordered! This unit has great fit and finish and arrived well packaged and in perfect condition on the west coast 14 days later. It is slightly taller than the older unit. The smaller compressor maintains 36 degrees Fahrenheit with ease. A 2017 review on this website says that the unit does not have a warranty for residential use. The True warranty document available on their website dated November 1, 2021 contains no residential use exclusion (although many commercial manufacturers do have such an exclusion). A call to True Warranty Department confirms no current residential use exclusion, which they said True dropped in 2018. A nice piece of equipment that will hopefully last for years.

Product seems to be as you described, and you guys delivered it as promised. Honestly it's too new for me to give a great review but from what we have seen. It's definitely a good product to buy

True makes a good, valuable product but you HAVE TO DO MAINTENANCE! It irritates me when owners write poor reviews on good equipment. I can guarantee the negative review of the equipment is due to either improper installation or failure to perform maintenance. Every restaurant/bar should have their refrigeration maintenance performed at least once yearly by qualified professionals, REFRIGERATION mechanics/technicians. This piece of equipment with good maintenance should last you 10 years. If it lasts longer that is great but with regular use ANY restaurant/bar owner should expect to replace their refrigeration equipment at ten years. Everyday that equipment makes you money, you need to invest it back into your equipment. As a technician myself I can tell you 80% of my service calls are because the equipment was not given proper maintenance. If you invest in maintenance, you are investing in the success of your business. **Remember, refrigeration equipment runs 24 hours a day/365 days a year**

Excellent Product-Great Value-USA Made :)

As a service technician, I can tell you this is a great product to add to any commercial kitchen and a great value for your dollars. Parts are readily available, that is not the case with the cheaper brands.(I'm looking at you Atosa, Migali & Summit) Now as an owner, your job is to make sure you maintenance the equipment quarterly and have someone like myself out yearly at minimum, you do that and this workhorse will work hard for you for 10+ years.

Replaced an identical fridge that was 26 years old

So far, not so thrilled

I was pretty excited to get a brand new cooler after dealing with used ones for the past 15 years. There are a lot of nice upgrades to the newer units. The evap fan runs backward on startup to clean any crud out of the condenser, has LED lighting, and an improved tapered drip tray to help with drainage. So what don't I like? It doesn't get cold enough. The temp control is new high tech programmable unit that you would think would be awesome. They claim that set at #4 your beer will be between 34 and 38 degrees. I'm up.to #9 maxed out and my beer just finally broke below 39 degrees. That doesn't cut it. Service guy teplaced the temp control and its exactly the same. Can I really be the only customer to ever have this happen? Someone has to know something. If it gets fixed I'll ammend my review

Condensation Issues!

We have 2 of these in our kitchen and they condensate horribly. We have had two different refrigeration companies look at them and they insist there is nothing wrong with them mechanically. They condensate so badly it ruins products and actually pools in the bottom of both units. Horrible design and this should have been fixed, we bought each unit over a year apart and they each have the same exact problem.

My Last Rue Prep Unit

This unit has an interior part called the Countertop Rail. It's plastic and it absolutely shouldn't be. It's the rail that holds all your food pans in place. I've yet to ever see a prep unit that has one that's not stainless steel, and now I know why. It's cracks and breaks away. We bought two of these in 2018 and neither of them are holding up. This plastic interior trim (I call it the rail) that hols the pans is too tight to fit your mix of standard food pans. You practically need to depress the pans into place, so it's no surprise that this trim is breaking. And yes, we use the same standard sized food pans that we've used for 25 years with no issues in other units. Mostly a mix of 1/3 and 1/6 pans. Long story short, If you want a unit to last the next 7-10 years, I'd stay away from this one.

Full size sheet tray won't fit!

Just received the freezer and plugged it in and went to load in my sheet trays and they don't fit. It is a couple of inches too shallow. This means that I can't buy racks that will fit either. The interior dimensions are listed but I didn't check it cause all my other freezers and refrigerators fit a full size sheet tray. I'd return this if there was a way to do so. This is really a big mistake in my opinion.

True has gone down hill and is. I longer reliable

Bought two True T-49 just over three years ago. Both have broken down within months of the 3 year warranty no longer covering them. True used to be a brand name that meant middle of the road but still quality; to have two separate units purchased 6 months apart both quit after 3 years??? I don't believe in coincidences that large.

I would buy this cooler again!

In 45+ years of floral experience, I have never seen a cooler that is more consistent in temperature. The life of the flowers is extended better than I've ever seen. I highly recommend this cooler and Katom. They were excellent to work with.

Excellent unit!

After doing research we chose the True Refrigeration T-43-HC because of True's reputation, warranty, and Katom's pricing. It's been installed less than one month, so I can't speak on reliability yet. Hopefully ina couple years I'll be able to update this review. The ordering process was all completed online and was very easy! Katom was extremely quick to process the order and to ship. Tracking of the shipment was easy and the unit was delivered ahead of schedule. The delivery driver was very helpful of getting it installed in the assigned place, uncrate, and help install casters. I could not have asked for a better delivery person! The unit was delivered (and installed!) in perfect condition. It was quick to recover to programmed temperature and is very quick to recover after restocking. Only concerns: The unit is not the quietest and we needed more than the six shelves provided. Otherwise we are very satisfied with this reach in!

Superior Product!

We absolutely love our new refrigerator. The LED lights make it much brighter inside and easier to see. We just replaced our True refrigerator that we have had for 18 years. We believe in this product and would not even consider another brand.

Great product for the money, pay a pro to Install & Startup

I am in the business so please listen to me when I tell you this is a good product for your money. You need to have the unit professionally installed and calibrated by a refrigeration company when it arrives and you will have a wonderful piece of equipment. Every 3-6 months you need to clean the condenser and check your gaskets. When you can shut the door on a piece of paper and the paper comes out easily, the gasket needs replaced. These are mechanical pieces of equipment that run 24 hours a day 7 days a week, with good maintenance expect 10 years out of the product. If you want to be like the people below who did not care for their equipment, you will be lucky to get 3 years out of it before the compressor dies from over heating. Choose to do your maintenance and protect your investment.

Works well, seems to have less room than hinged door model

It's been great so far. It's slightly smaller inside than the traditional door model we replaced. Delivery was easy.

The unit stores a lot of drinks

We have the unit filled with drinks and snacks for our clients and staff. The unit makes more noise than our previous unit but it sure keeps things cold.

Rains inside more than in the Amazon Rainforest

For whatever reason, leaking seals or warped doors, or poor engineering, this refrigerator builds up moisture in the cabinet and more than half of it condenses within the cabinet, instead of in the drip pan, and all of our food gets soaked. Contacted True and awaiting service on the unit.

Had a small dent in the back grill but no problems. Door is a little heavy, but its a big unit.

I sell and service the True TD-95, the product works great, you must do maintenance and have it serviced by a reputable refrigeration company, yearly at least. If you do this you will have a product that serves you well for 10+ years.

Bought this for residential use. So far it works great, but after I received (shipped to my home) I found out that there is No Warranty, if used in a Non-commercial application. Would not purchased it if I had known that.

Good cooler, serviceability not so much.

Straighten the drain for cleaning. Use expanded metal mesh for the dividers instead of current wire setup, bottles get hung up. Cooling works well. Cost effective for us. Would like to see annual energy costs listed for all units in terms of Kw consumed as all coolers run 24/7. When cooling cans, the products stepped rear wall traps cans under it.

Awesome Service

We accidentally (most likely my own dang fault,) got the wrong shelves the first time. When I called the staff was so quick, friendly, and helpful. We were able to quickly return the wrong shelves and get the correct ones very fast. The product is perfect and a lifesaver for our fridge. I will always check with this company first in the future if I need anything. I am friends with many other restaurant/bar owners and will be recommending KaTom to them as well. Thanks!!

Katom is a disappointment

I have had trouble with this unit since the first day. Keeps accumulating water at the bottom of the unit and not properly draining. Recently left the military and dumped all the money I had into a floral refrigerator to start a business. I selected KaTom from their reviews. When I called with the problem they said immediately it's the manufacturer's responsibility. When I called True they quipped that I bought the unit "online". Not sure how else they sell them. Left with a leaking refrigerator and no fix. Can't believe the situation.

We have a commercial kitchen in our church. About 15 years ago we bought this same model -- with good success, so when we needed to replace it, we reviewed models available and this unit continued to show good results for others. We reviewed specifications, and selected this unit -- we were very pleased with the quick responses we received from KaTom, and how quickly they were able to coordinate delivery details. The delivery service communicated specifics, was on time, and very professional. The fridge came down to refrigeration temp very quickly. Fairly quiet compared to the old one, this one comes to temp very quickly. We're impressed.

Used as a second cold storage. What is good, digital thermometer,led lighting, moves easily on the casters, holds temperature with in a couple degrees. Well made product! Did not like. No switch on the door for light operation.

Purchased this product and did not cool when arrived. Feel the product should have been replaced instead of sending parts. It's been 2 weeks and the parts have still not arrived. Extremely disappointed!
