Hand Soap Dispensers: What You Need to Know
Hand soap dispensers are a necessity in any public restroom. These high-volume commercial soap dispensers will keep up with the demands of a public restroom where small pump dispensers would fall short. These commercial-grade soap dispensers will also serve more hand washers at a lower cost than residential soap pumps.
We carry automatic and manual commercial soap dispensers, as well as replacement soap for your existing dispensers. Foaming soap dispensers are popular as the increased volume ensures your customers don't use several pumps of soap when one will do the trick. Encourage employees and customers to exercise healthy habits with wall-mounted or countertop hand soap dispensers. With our wide variety of restaurant soap dispensers, including popular wall-mounted soap dispensers for bathrooms and kitchens, you're sure to find one that matches the aesthetic and functionality you're looking for.
Common Questions About Soap Dispensers
What types of soaps are available?
We carry several different types of hand soap for automatic, manual, foaming, and liquid soap dispensers. Some contain moisturizers, which stop hands from drying out after using soap. This can be particularly convenient in foodservice applications where your servers will hopefully be washing their hands often. Frequent washing can leave hands dry and cracked, but soap with moisturizer in it will help counteract this to some extent.
There are also foaming options, with or without moisturizer. Wall-mounted foam soap dispensers are economical in that they dispense less soap with every pump, but the foaming action increases the volume and coverage. Operators can get clean with less soap, which saves money over time. However, the choice between foaming and liquid soap is largely a matter of preference, and operators should choose the style of soap they prefer.
The last determinant for hand soap is scent. We carry a variety of pleasantly scented soaps, so operators can choose one that appeals to their own noses. Browse our collection of hand soaps here and choose the one that looks best.
Should I get a wall- or counter-mounted dispenser?
Wall-mounted liquid soap dispensers are the simplest and most common type of dispenser, because they don't require you to cut into the countertop and can be installed without the special tools required for in-counter soap dispensers. However, counter-mounted dispensers are less intrusive and will blend in better with your décor. Counter-mounted units are also necessary if your setup includes a row of many sinks as each sink will need a dispenser of its own nearby. Wall-mounted foam soap dispensers are popular with operators and guests alike, and also don't require cutting into a countertop.
Should I get bag-in-box soap?
The bag-in-box method of dispensing soap is beneficial because the plastic bag protects the soap from potential contamination. With this setup, you can be sure the soap coming out of the dispenser doesn't have anything potentially harmful in it and that your hands are indeed being cleaned. Free-flowing soap can also work, but you'll need to pay attention to the inside of the container to ensure nothing has contaminated the supply, such as rusted hardware.
What size dispenser do I need?
The size of the dispenser will be determined by the size of the bathroom and frequency of use. If you're running a small casual restaurant, one of the smaller commercial hand soap dispensers will be more than enough. Just add refilling the soap dispenser to your list of cleaning tasks for the restroom. However, if you have a high-volume establishment, a unit that holds 30 ounces or more will keep you from having to refill it too often. You also want to ensure the dispenser has a way to check the volume of soap remaining without taking the unit apart. Consult the product specification page for the model you're considering to make sure it has all the features you want.
