More versatile than shelving units with only vented or solid shelf plates, the Cambro CPU246064VS4480 Camshelving® Premium starter shelving system features one solid and three louvered shelf plates. Small or irregularly shaped objects, leak-prone items, and linens can be stored on the solid shelf's flat, smooth surface, while the vented shelves' slotted design improves airflow, creating an appropriate storage space for bagged and boxed perishables and bulk ingredients. Each shelf can support 800 pounds, though storing more than 2,000 pounds on the unit will weaken its posts. To accommodate new products, the shelves can be raised or lowered along the posts by removing and repositioning the included traverses. This adjustable design also enables operators to reconfigure the shelving layout as desired and remove the shelves for dishmachine cleaning. To protect contents from contaminants throughout use, antimicrobial protection slows bacterial and fungal growth and spread between cleanings.

Because the Cambro CPU246064VS4480 starter shelving unit's shelves are made of polypropylene and the steel traverses and posts are coated with polypropylene, this unit resists corrosion and rust in humid environments, such as dishrooms and kitchens.
