It's treated with antimicrobial protection that hinders fungal and microbial growth between standard cleanings, and when sanitation is required, the shelves can be wiped down or washed in a dishmachine for thorough cleaning. Three shelves have louvered surfaces that promote airflow to create a safe storage space for perishables by minimizing moisture and dust buildup. Its single solid shelf has a flat, sturdy structure that accommodates small or irregularly shaped items and leaky goods. Though each shelf can support 800 pounds, storing more than 2,000 pounds on this shelving system could weaken it.

The Cambro CPU243064VS4480 starter shelving unit endures environments from -36 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit, and because its posts and traverses have polypropylene coatings, it can be stored in humid environments, such as dishrooms and kitchens. For quick setup, it includes two preassembled post kits, and dovetails are molded into the posts to save time during field assembly. Eight traverses are also included so operators can secure shelves in place along the posts and reposition them as needed.
