Great knife, sharp right of box

Unless I am mistaken this has been the Americas Test Kitchen selection as best chef's knife for years. I bought knife based on their recommendation. I don't know if it is best knife, but I do know it is a great knife for the price. Sharp right out of box. Recommended.

Excellent product, sharp out of the box.

Very well made and sharp. It is stainless steel, so won't rust. I rounded the top edge and edge near handle with some 120 grit sand paper to make it more comfortable next to my fingers. Other than that, it works great!

Do a lot of butchering / cutting up meat . The knife keeps sharp along time. Very easy to handle.

Wonderful Knife

I got the knife last week and I used it to cut a loaf of fresh bread. The blade worked perfectly and didn't tear the bread, but cut through evenly. Great knife from Victorinox. Thanks to KaTom for having this and other great products.

My chef daughter keeps borrowing this knife!

This 6" "mini" chef's knife has become my go to blade for most of my prep work now. My chef daughter liked it so much, I had to buy two more so we all have one when dinner becomes a family affair. It's maneuverable in tight spots, light weight, and stays sharp all week long!!!

Best Knife Ever

I just bought this knife for my son who is a terrific cook. I've had the same knife for about a year and it is by far the best knife I've ever used. Although it is sold as a boning knife, it can be used for almost any cutting job. It is a great size, weight and is incredibly sharp. It's well worth the money!

I love this knife!!! It is so sharp with the serrated edge and the blade is so think it slices through the toughest fruit or vegetable like butter!!

Great sharp blade....small handle

Victorinox 47501 is a nice 4" paring knife blade which is described and pictured as "large handled" which should accommodate us larger handed people. Blade is flexible, razor sharp, and cuts with minimal effort. The 4.25 inch long handle may be longer than standard but is narrow making it difficult for large handed people to get a firm grip if needed for heavier cutting. Overall I love the knifes cutting ability, I just wish it had the advertised larger rounded handle pictured. Three stars because of the small handle which is vastly different from my numerous other Victorinox knives.

Best knife at the Best Price from KaTom

This is my favorite go-to knife. It's sharp, inexpensive and fits my hand perfectly. The price from KaTom is actually less than I buy these knives for when I'm in Switzerland. They ship quickly and package them well.

This is the brother in law of the best slicer ever made: The Forschner pointy end 10 inch wavy edged rosewood handled slicer (no longer made) The fibrox handle is good but I liked the lightness of the rosewood. I don't have a clue why Forschner quit making them. They used to be available in a 10 and 12 inch model. Anyway; this is an awesome bread, cake, pastry, porkloin, tenderloin, etc

Not the same quality as they used to be!!

For years I have been buying these knives from Victorinox. They were the absolute best. I buy them for myself and give them as gifts. This year I bought 30 of them and they are not the same quality. it is just a plain old mediocre knife. It is as sharp as the first one I bought 10 years ago. I am very sad. Is Victorinox sending us their rejects, I am sure the Europeans would not settle for these knives. I won't be buying them again. SAD!!!

Victorinox is my brand of choice, I absolutely love them!!

I have a set that was gifted to me 25 years ago, the blades are still very sharp and in fair condition, I ordered this set so I could retire my older set for personal kitchen use, and still have my work roll. Needless to say I am thrilled with my new cutlery. I get told that I should invest in Wostoff, but I personally like the weight and balance of the Victorinox, also I like the grade of steel better.

Talk about sharp!

Even my high-priced knife salesman was impressed! Good value, they do lose a little sharpness over time, but what is left is still impressive.

Forschner Knife sharpener

I haven't used this product yet. The stones were loose in the holder and 2 plastic pieces were broken off the edge. I'm assuming shipping was rough. Stones are not damaged so I'll be ready to try it out soon.

Great everyday knife

We own a dozen of these knives and still seem to run out before the dishwasher gets run. They're very useful.

Love the product, but shipping cost outrageous.

Use the knives I purchased to skin animals with they are the best when it comes to capeing. It can be held like a pencil for getting into delicate and tight places. They sharpen well and are an all around great knife. The shipping cost will have me search other avenues of purchase in the future. If the packaging for each knife was not so large they could be put a much smaller box for shipping.

this knife does a very nice job cutting bread before baking it. I like the way it fits in my hand also it is very easy to use.

The Victorinox 4" serrated paring knife is a wonderful kitchen must-have. I use them for general purpose. 3.5" is not long enough, get the 4". Serrated can be sharpened, if you are patient enough to try, with a fine round file and a stone for the flat side. Katom is a great vendor. Fast, efficient, happy transactions.

This is the best zester for threads of zest, hands down. It's angled to cut easily and stays sharp forever. I get them for the whole pastry crew. Also, price can't be beat.

The only bread knife I buy

This knife comes in three different colors but no matter the color of the handle the blade is the same and this knife rocks. There is no better serrated bread knife anywhere, the curved blade doesn't destroy your cutting boards and allows you to cut faster. The blade can easily be honed on a steel, unlike some other serrated blade. Also works excellent in the pantry for all vegetable prep, you need this knife in your kitchen.

Very Large

Wow, these are some very large poultry shears. Too large for my wife, which is who I bought them for. I wish they had a smaller size.

Sharpest knife on the planet

I use it for cutting rope and twine to steak and harvesting swiss chard. No matter how careful you are this knife will cause you to bleed but be careful. Best price I bought 2 dozen. Sharpenable using a steel.

I would recommend this knife and buy it again if I needed an

I wanted a bread knife that would cut more easily the hard, heavy whole wheat bread I make. I wanted it long to go across the bread slice guide I have. This is the sharpest and stiffest bread knife I've seen and it makes cutting my bread easier (nothing is going to cut this bread easily). The stiff blade helps me keep the blade square with the cut, not thinner of thicker at top or bottom of the cut. unfortunately it is sharp enough to cut into the wooden bread slice guide but I'll take that over other knives. I may be able to dispense with the bread slice guide.
