This Cambro CPU185472V5480 Camshelving® Premium starter shelving unit measures 54 inches wide by 18 inches deep by 72 inches high and is comprised of five louvered shelf plates that can support 800 pounds each; however, the unit is designed to hold 2,000 pounds at its full-load capacity. The shelves' slotted surfaces let air pass through the gaps and circulate around stored contents uniformly, eliminating moisture and dust buildup to create a safe storage space for perishables. To maintain regular sanitizing schedules, the shelves can be wiped clean or washed in a dishmachine. Between these cleanings, embedded Camguard® antimicrobial protection slows bacterial spread that could form odors or stains.

Because the Cambro CPU185472V5480 starter shelving units' shelves are polypropylene and the steel posts and traverses have polypropylene coatings, they resist corrosion in humid environments. Overall, this unit is compatible with environments between -36 and 190 degrees Fahrenheit, enabling storage in dishrooms, pantries, walk-in refrigerators or freezers, and loading docks. Though it ships unassembled, it includes the necessary components for setup: 10 traverses, posts, and dovetails. Its two post kits come assembled with dovetails molded into the posts, eliminating a tedious step required in Cambro's Elements and Basics Plus shelving unit assembly.
