Great delivery, freezes solid

Basic freezer great for the price - too early to tell how well it will last. Not sure how energy efficient it is.

Never again

Condensation between the doors on the outside since arrival. arctic sent the technician who said that he couldn't fix it but sent me an invoice for a work undone. now arctic says this problem is not under warranty. I do not think they will publish this review. Further arctic said that we have to live with this problem - water falling all over the floor and we have to "live with this?"

Save your money

Compressor failed after 2 years, and they wouldn't honor the warranty. Sorry, but if they would have stepped up I would have rated higher and said pretty good at this price. But as it is, it's cheap junk with no manufacturer support.

Love this cooler

So happy to have this bar cooler. I have already taken my picture with it. That's how much I love it.

Just made it past the warranty

Bought this to replace an existing unit of another make that lasted 14 years in same environment. It arrived with a hole in the lower coil which the company paid to braze/repair. After 13 months it developed a series of leaks in the upper coil. We recharged the unit only to find the circulation fan needed replacing as well. Total estimate to repair was $1400.00. Sent it to the landfill and bought a True made in US. Hopefully it will be a better unit. At least I am covered by a three year parts and labor warranty.

Never again

14 months old, 2 months out of warranty, evaporator fan goes out, replaces fan, still won't cool. Low freon. Repairs are going to cost more than the unit

I love this refrigerator!!

Was very happy with this purchase. I didn't like the delivery experience!! Driver was rude, there was a huge dent on back of item and I still have heard nothing back from customer service.

Great Experience

We needed a replacement refrigerator fast. Katom had the product we wanted at an excellent price, they answered my inquiry on delivery right away and came through as stated. This replaced our True refer and works great at a much lower cost. The lit up temp on the outside is a great feature.

KaTom has excellent prices.

This is the second Arctic Air double-door reach in that we have bought. This one is too new to comment on, but value the previous one caused us to buy this one. We think this model is well made and has all the features that we need. The only reason that I didn't rate this as a "five" is because of the freight company. I couldn't track the progress of the delivery through them, and they were very unreliable as to when they said delivery would happen. The third day of promised delivery occurred after 6:00 pm on a Friday, after everyone was gone, and I had to leave it outside for the weekend. If I buy from KaTom again, I will ask who is making their delivery.

So far, veny good, except awful handle . . .

Obviously, can't beat the price. The unit seems to be of decent quality, and has the weight and appearance of a commercial unit. It has kept the inside steady at 33 to 37 degrees, and uses very little power (about $1.50 in power over the first 2 weeks I've had it plugged in). Huge negative is the handle - it is a "recessed" handle. Sounds good, right? Problem is, the indentation into which you put your fingers is shaped poorly, and so it's tough to get a good grip, AND the door seal is very, very tight, which means that's it's very difficult to open the door with one hand. I'm not sure if this will improve with time, but right now a small person would likely have to use 2 hands and struggle to get the door open, which, obviously, is not good. I'm already considering modifying the door handle. It loses one star for that, but still stays at 4 stars for the price. I've only had the unit for 2 weeks, so be advised that this is not a review of reliability.

Economy, basic, I got what I paid for.

These units are okay but you are buying a very basic product and you need to be aware of that. This is not an investment piece of equipment for your restaurant, do not expect it to last more than a few years. I have been in the business for 20 years and in my opinion you are better off paying more for a unit that comes with a reasonable 3 year warranty and a service department to back up the product. At minimum I buy True products now because their parts are available and they have a service department that is not overseas. This unit is basic and it will serve its purpose but you are getting what you pay for so don't expect it to last as long as the units that cost more.

18 mos later needs service

This frig is constantly freezing up. We have to keep transferring food out to let it unfreeze, which is a real pain. So it is 18 months into ownership (past warranty of course) and I am having to pay hundreds to get it fixed!
