Kold-Draft has been in operation since 1920. The way Kold-Draft marine ice machines are designed also make them a great choice for passenger ships. Marine units include a ground harness to help keep the machine stable in rough seas and an enclosed water system helps keep the water from splashing into the bin or out of the machine. The water probe in marine units uses a baffle that allows it to operate even when the machine isn't level, as is often the case when sailing on waves.
Kold-Draft machines produce hard, clear ice and use a horizontal evaporator to help prevent air and impurities from reaching the ice. Four types of ice are available from Kold-Draft to meet the needs of foodservice operators: full ice cubes, half ice cubes, large cubes, and crushed ice.
