Scotsman HID312AX-1 Description
The Scotsman HID312AX-1 Meridian countertop ice dispenser produces nugget ice, creating as much as 260 pounds every day. Since it poses less of a choking hazard to patients than traditional cube ice, this type of ice is popular in hospitals and nursing homes as well as restaurants. The touchless operation offered by this model is beneficial in a busy kitchen or at a crowded nurse's station, and the large dispensing area accommodates tall cups. This model also dispenses water for one-stop convenience. To keep up with high demand, the storage bin can hold 12 pounds of ice.
The Scotsman HID312AX-1 Meridian countertop ice dispenser has several features for cleanup and maintenance. Its drip tray is large, has a built-in drain, and is completely removable for cleaning. Along with a storage bin, the unit's removable air filter is located on the outside of the machine and can be accessed by opening the front panels. Its greaseless bearings are polymer lubricated to limit maintenance requirements, and LED diagnostic lights alert the user when service or maintenance is needed. Each unit comes with a custom QR code that links to service manuals, parts lists, and warranty information.

Review this product!
The ice is great. The IR sensor for the ice is sporadic.
The water portion of the machine is seamless. The water comes on and stays on until you remove your cup away from the sensor. The ice portion is hit or miss. I don't know if there is a bad sensor or not but it is frustrating to use the ice dispensing side of the unit.
We have excellent results with these
We have several Scotsman HID312A-1 ice machines in our hospital. We have much less repair calls than the Folletts or Manitowoc machines that we also have(but not for long)
Junk! The auto sensor ones never work right
Should be 0 stars! Poor design idea. They installed these at my hospital and NEVER work good. The auto sensors are hard for people to trigger and cause madness! Then when it finally does dispense 1/2 the water and ice ends up on the floor! Terrible idea, everyone wants the old one back!!!!
