Since the Cambro CPA212464VS4480 Camshelving® Premium add-on shelving unit has one solid and three vented polypropylene shelf plates, it adds storage versatility once attached to a Premium starter shelving unit. This unit measures 24 inches wide by 21 inches deep by 64 inches high, and each shelf supports 800 pounds, though the unit has a 2,000-pound capacity. The add-on shelving system can be attached to the original unit using the included preassembled post kit, eight traverses, and molded-in dovetails. This shelving unit is safe in temperatures between -36 and 190 degrees Fahrenheit, enabling storage in dishrooms, pantries, and walk-in coolers or freezers.
Though each shelf in the Cambro CPA212464VS4480 add-on shelving unit measures 24 inches wide by 21 inches deep, has a polypropylene construction, and is treated with a built-in antimicrobial protection agent, the solid and vented shelves vary in structural properties. The solid shelf's rigid, flat surface provides support for small or irregularly shaped items, linens, and leaky goods, while the louvered shelves encourage airflow to store perishables and reduce buildup of moisture and dust. As the shelves become dirty, they can be removed for cleaning and sanitizing in a dishwasher.
