The shelves on the Cambro CPA184864V5480 Camshelving® Premium add-on shelving unit have gapped surfaces that promote uniform air circulation to eliminate moisture and dust, creating a safe storage space for perishables and bulk ingredients. The shelves corrosion- and rust-resistant polypropylene construction is embedded with Camguard® antimicrobial protection, which inhibits bacterial and fungal growth between regular cleanings to shield stored contents from stains or odors. The shelves can be wiped clean or removed and washed in a dishmachine for regular sanitization. As much as 800 pounds can be stored on each shelf, though no more than 2,000 pounds should be stored on the unit as a whole. The shelves can be raised or lowered along the posts as inventory changes to accommodate new and variously sized products.

Easier to assemble than Cambro's Elements and Basics Plus shelving systems, the Cambro CPA184864V5480 add-on shelving unit includes a preassembled post kit with molded-in dovetails; 10 traverses also come with this system, so operators have the necessary components for complete assembly. This 48-inch-wide by 18-inch-deep by 64-inch-high structure is designed for attachment to a Premium starter shelving unit in a straight line or L, T, and U shapes, depending on available space. To match the starter system, it's speckled gray. Both shelving systems can be stored in temperatures ranging from -36 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit for use in normal storage spaces, such as dishrooms, pantries, and walk-in units. Because the posts and traverses are coated with polypropylene, they resist corrosion if the unit must be stored in humid areas.
