When this Cambro CPA245464V5480 Camshelving® Premium add-on shelving unit is joined with a Premium starter shelving unit, it adds five vented polypropylene shelf plates of storage space. Each shelf accommodates 800 pounds, though loading the unit with more than 2,000 pounds will reduce its structural integrity. The shelves' gapped surfaces encourage air to pass through the slots and around product, which is necessary for storing produce properly. As air moves freely, it minimizes moisture and dust accumulation. To protect stored contents, these polypropylene shelves resist rust, corrosion, and damage from saltwater and chemicals. Built-in Camguard® antimicrobial protection slows bacterial, fungal, and mold growth between scheduled cleanings. The shelves can be wiped clean or sanitized in a dishmachine to ensure their surfaces remain clean throughout use.

A post kit, dovetails, and 10 traverses are included with the Cambro CPA245464V5480 add-on shelving unit so it can be affixed to the starter shelving system. The post kit ships assembled, and dovetails are molded into the steel and polypropylene posts so the operator doesn't have to attach them in the field, unlike Cambro's Elements and Basics Plus shelving units. To fit cramped dishrooms, pantries, and walk-in coolers or freezers, this unit can be fastened in a straight line or in U-, L-, and T-shaped configurations. Its speckled gray appearance maintains uniformity with the original unit, and this system is safe to store in temperatures from -36 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit, which means the starter unit can remain in its original location.
