Because each shelf in the five-level Cambro CBU214284S5580 Camshelving® Basics Plus starter shelving unit is solid, it provides more versatile storage options than fully vented shelving units. The solid shelf plates accommodate linens, items that tend to leak, and small, irregularly shaped items. The top shelf can support 400 pounds, while each lower shelf is designed to hold 600 pounds; to prevent overloading, only 1,800 pounds should be stored on the unit. As inventory changes, the shelves can be spaced apart as desired along the composite posts. Designed to last, the shelves are made of corrosion- and rust-resistant polypropylene, which contains an antimicrobial protection agent that inhibits fungal and bacterial growth between standard cleanings.
To facilitate setup, the Cambro CBU214284S5580 starter shelving unit includes preassembled post connectors and wedges, 10 traverses, and five bags of eight dovetails. When assembled, this unit measures 42 inches wide by 21 inches deep by 84 inches high and is supported by composite posts with leveling feet that balance on irregular surfaces. To ensure products can be stored in an ideal storage environment, it withstands temperatures between -36 and 190 degrees Fahrenheit, enabling use in pantries, dishrooms, and walk-in freezers and coolers.
