The Scotsman NS0622R-1 ice machine head uses remote cooling with R404A refrigerant; it requires a separately sold condensing unit to operate. Cleaning is performed at the touch of a button, and to slow bacterial growth, this unit's AgION™ antimicrobial reduces germ spread in busy environments. This machine makes nugget ice—a popular choice for customers due to its chewability. At most, it can make 660 pounds of ice per day; if conditions aren't ideal, it makes closer to 579 pounds of ice daily.

Providing durability and resistance to rust and corrosion, the Scotsman NS0622R-1 nugget ice machine head has a stainless steel auger and evaporator; its exterior has a stainless steel finish as well. When users scan the unit-specific QR code, they can view important information, such as warranty details and service manuals. The bearings require no maintenance for operation and are sealed to prevent water damage.
