Hatco S-18 Description
Equipped with an adjustable thermostat, the Hatco S-18 Imperial water heater works great for low- and high-temperature dishwashers. Its thermostat is accessible through the front cover and can be adjusted by twisting the screw to the needed setting. The unit itself is operated with a straightforward off/on toggle switch and can be monitored with a pilot light on the front. In an hour, this heater can raise 181 gallons of water by 40 degrees Fahrenheit, or it can raise 103 gallons of water by 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
On the exterior, the Hatco S-18 booster water heater has a durable, powder-coated hammertone finish, and on the interior, it has fiberglass insulation and a Castone®-lined tank. The concrete-like, Castone lining provides a safe, noncorrosive layer of corrosion protection, and it helps prevent minerals from sticking to the sides and piling up. In order to function properly, the elements only activate if there is enough water in the tank, and they will deactivate if they become too hot, protecting the internal components.
