Learn About Your Henny Penny Warranty
Aside from the initial purchase price, the biggest cost associated with owning commercial cooking equipment is the cost to use and maintain it. Many eateries simply don’t have the budget to accommodate the fees associated with repairing and replacing commercial equipment, let alone the loss in sales that occurs when the kitchen isn't fully operable. As a result, restaurateurs often turn a keen eye toward equipment warranty and replacement policies. For any operator, choosing kitchen equipment is an investment, and Henny Penny offers some of the most comprehensive warranties in the business to help safeguard your venture.
In this article, we'll cover the highlights of Henny Penny warranties for fryers and other equipment, explain how to get the most out of your coverage, and clarify ways to prevent voiding your equipment warranty once you're set up.
A good warranty can save you thousands if equipment breaks. Always verify what coverage a piece of equipment has when making a purchase.
Henny Penny Fryer Warranty
Henny Penny offers an extended frypot warranty that sets it apart from most competitors. For as long as 7 years from the date of manufacture, any frypot failure due to manufacturing or workmanship is covered for replacement. At the manufacturer's discretion, a new frypot will be installed or a new replacement fryer provided. During the first 36 months of the Henny Penny fryer warranty, shipping, labor, and installation are also covered.1
If a malfunction occurs after 37 months, a credit may be issued to the original purchaser, or the unit's frypot may be replaced. If the latter option is chosen, the operator must foot the bill for shipping and installation.
Henny Penny Heated Cabinet Warranty
Aside from its iconic fryers, the company also makes heated cabinets and warming drawers for holding cooked food until it's served. This type of equipment comes with a 2-year Henny Penny warranty that covers all machine parts except fuses and lamps. Labor and mileage costs are also covered for the first 12 months from the date of installation.2
Warranty claims for all Henny Penny equipment must be filled by Henny Penny or the distributor through which the equipment was originally purchased. Third-party repairs aren't covered and can actually void your warranty coverage.
Get the Most From Your Henny Penny Warranty
Henny Penny offers exceptional warranties on its equipment, but to get the full benefit, you'll need to take specific steps during and after your equipment is installed.
Ensure Your Equipment is Registered
All Henny Penny equipment warranties must be registered on the company's website within 10 days of installation.2 Registering your equipment validates your warranty, ensuring the best coverage possible in the case of malfunction. Failure to do so may render your warranty void, leaving your business in the lurch for expensive repairs or part replacements.
Make Use of Henny Penny's Startup Service

Henny Penny Warranty Exceptions
After you've made sure your equipment is set up and your warranty is registered, there are a couple other elements you'll need to keep in mind. Taking some simple steps to ensure your equipment is well maintained, using high-quality water, and OEM filters can help extend the life of your machine, keeping your fryer or heated cabinet warranty intact. Some common operator errors that may result in a voided warranty are listed below.
Water Quality
Part failure due to poor water quality isn't covered by warranty. Some specs for ensuring optimal water quality include the following:
General Water Properties
- Hardness less than 3 grains
- Silica less than 15 ppm
- PH between 7-8
- Undissolved solids less than 5 microns
- Dissolved solids less than 60 ppm
- Alkalinity less than 20 ppm
Element & Compound Levels
- Iron less than 0.1 mg/L
- Chlorides less than 150 mg/L
- Chlorine less than 0.1 mg/L
One way to maintain water quality is to install and use a water filtration system in your establishment. More details on water quality requirements can be found in the literature included with your equipment.
Cleaning
Another exclusion from your Henny Penny warranty is part failure from improper pan cleaning. It's important to not only train employees how to use the equipment but also how to clean and maintain it. Henny Penny provides comprehensive operation manuals with all new equipment where you can find details on your specific model's maintenance requirements. A general water pan cleaning procedure follows these steps:
- Drain water pan.
- Remove and clean concentration ring.
- Clean water pan and float switch.
- Delime water pan at least once a week.
Always carefully read your operation manual before using the equipment, as it contains important details on how to care for your specific machine. Be sure to retain the manual for your records.
Filter System
The Henny Penny fryer warranty doesn't cover failure in filtration systems caused by non-OEM filters. Using non-OEM filters with your machine can alter the way in which it functions, cause clogging, or more. Although using non-OEM filters may cost less up front, doing so will void your warranty coverage for all parts of the filtering system – potentially leading to expensive repairs if any part of the unit malfunctions down the line.
OEM fryer filters come in cases of 30 or 100 and can be found on the KaTom website along with other Henny Penny parts and accessories. If you're wanting to buy Henny Penny equipment online that's available too.
