Vulcan 48SS-8B Description
So staff can saute, boil, simmer, fry, roast, bake, or reheat various dishes simultaneously, the Vulcan 48SS-8B LP Endurance™ restaurant range is built with eight open-top burners and two ovens. Despite being a three-in-one unit, it features a relatively compact size at 48 inches wide by 34 inches deep by 58 inches high. It's positioned on 6-inch legs that can be adjusted to stabilize the unit on irregular flooring. Its high lift-off shelf provides convenient storage for ingredients, supplies, and other frequently used items. To endure demanding back-of-house settings, its frame is fully MIG welded, and it's constructed of resilient stainless steel.
To reduce gas consumption, four shrouded flashtube pilot systems control the eight burners instead of each burner having a corresponding pilot light. Operators can modify burner heat with the cool-to-the-touch knobs, while the cast grates and aeration bowls enhance efficiency during cooking. While the four front grates are 12 inches by 121⁄2 inches to support small or medium cookware, the rear 12-inch by 141⁄2-inch grates can accommodate large pans and stock pots. For thorough cleaning, the grates can be lifted off, and the extra-deep crumb tray can be pulled out.
The Vulcan 48SS-8B LP-gas-powered range's two ovens can double the output of dishes that can be baked, roasted, or broiled simultaneously. Both ovens include two oven racks that can be raised or lowered in four positions. Their 27-inch-deep cavities can support full-size pans inserted side to side or front to back for flexibility, and users can set each oven's temperature from 250 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit or at a low-heat setting to achieve different results. While their hinged oven doors feature a cool-to-the-touch handle to enhance safety, their bases and door panels are made of porcelain to ease cleaning.
