The Berkel B12-SLC gravity-feed slicer's carriage accommodates product as large as 10³⁄₄ inches wide by 7³⁄₈ inches in diameter or 7⁵⁄₈ inches high. With its single-speed, ¹⁄₂-horsepower knife motor and 12-inch-diameter carbon steel knife, this unit can slice oversized cheeses and meats into ⁹⁄₁₆-inch slices. Operators can adjust the knife to create paper-thin slices and cut through soft and hard product.

To improve operator control and reduce mechanical pressure, this Berkel B12-SLC slicer's product plate is angled 45 degrees. Users can secure product in place with the anodized aluminum pusher, and the knife can be sharpened via the top-mounted, two-stone knife sharpener component. It powers on and off with a toggle switch, while a power light indicator glows when the unit is on so users can identify the unit's operational status quickly. Made of stainless steel and anodized aluminum, the surface is simple to clean, and the unit can be disassembled by hand for thorough cleaning. Because it measures 21¹⁄₂ inches wide by 24 inches deep by 21¹⁄₄ inches high, it's compatible with countertop installation.
