Maybe
I wanted a glass coffee decanter not plastic. I like metal cover on the bottom.
Bought this as a spare.....
Bought this thinking I would use it as a daily decanter. I also have a glass decanter. I didn't realize this was made from plastic. Was a little disappointed in that. Maybe I didn't read the description well enough, so may be my fault. This will be put away for a back up, so it's nice to have it for that. As far as quality,,,,,, as plastic decanters go it seem to be a well made piece. If you are looking for a shatter proof unit then this may work out well for you.

This one will not break
I use the decanter daily in my BUNN coffee maker and appreciate its heft and sturdiness. I should have bought it sooner, since the substitutes were flimsy and very fragile.

decanter seems bomb-proof!
If you dropped a full decanter on the ground, it seems possible that a leak could develop at the seam between the stainless steel base and the plexi-glass top. But under normal use, it should last a long time.

Much nicer than the standard pot
It's half stainless bottom accents my stainless BUNN VP17-1 coffee brewer, nice pouring spout, holds a full 12 cups, seems it will last me a lifetime in my home kitchen
