Vollrath Shares New Products-- Demonstration at KaTom
Vollrath has been dominating the food service industry for over 134 years with their extensive product line of equipment and smallwares. Restaurant suppliers generally have one specialty such as cast iron or cooking utensils, and Vollrath’s is innovation. While enamelware was popular in Germany, it had not yet been brought to America. Vollrath helped establish a worldwide market for enamelware, and when the market changed, they began manufacturing stainless steel in lieu of enamelware. Vollrath has inspired the smallwares and restaurant equipment industry, and is looking to bring some inspiration into your kitchen.
KaTom received a demonstration this week from our Vollrath representative, John Wright, who stopped by to teach us a little more about their product innovation. He featured three products in particular.
Vollrath Slicer 175-40804
The featured Vollrath slicer of the day was a medium duty slicer featuring Teflon coating to eliminate drag. This is truly a lifesaver to small delis and bakeries that may be slicing moist products such as meat and cheese for most of the day. It also allows for easier clean up at the end of the night. Vollrath’s medium duty slicer also features a compact design that allows for more counter space to be available. This item would make a great addition to delis, bakeries, coffee shops, and small restaurants.
Vollrath Countertop Fryer 175-40709
Possibly my favorite of the items presented would be the Vollrath Cayenne countertop deep fryer with a built in drain. This medium duty fryer is great for restaurants or bars, and frees up a lot of counter space due to its smaller design. It even comes with two baskets and has a “cold zone” to help keep oil fresh longer. This model provides a holding capacity of fifteen pounds, and is available up to thirty pounds. A fryer should require ease of operation and Vollrath’s line of fryers with built in drains certainly exceed expectations.
Vollrath Charbroiler 175-40728
The Vollrath Cayenne charbroiler is grilling at its best. Designed for versatility, each unit ships with kits for both lava rock and radiant setup, whichever you prefer. The grill surface is reversible to allow a narrow or wide grill surface. (Use the narrow side to reduce smoke, flames, and excess fat. Use the wider side to grill delicate items such as fish.)
The other great feature of the grill surface is that it may be angled to get food closer or further away from flames. For optimum heat distribution on any style of food, the Vollrath charbroiler is a must.
