Worse than old model; can't order without lid either

Product works ok for my smoothie shops, but its a huge letdown that you can't buy pitchers without lids! I have so many orange blender pitcher lids I don't know what to do with all of them. I will also say, these are WAY less durable than the last generation of quiet one blenders with the square pitchers. The wide bottom jugs crack much more easily and need to be replaced more often. Ironic because we now use pellet ice vs much harder cubed ice that was in use when we used the old generation vitamix products. The blender bases are also less durable. Trust me I own 18 of them and almost all of them (16/18)? went back for warranty repairs at least once. I even had someone at tech support slip and tell me that they were deliberately built less durable than older models. For example, the motor mount screwheads are too small, and motors would literally sink into the base making the blenders unusable. Its fixable with 4 metal washers that cost less than a quarter. Combine that with $85 shipping fee on warranty work and yea tbh I'd say stay away from these unless your franchisor forces you to use them.

Blenders work great

The blender works just as expected. They arrived sooner than the expected delivery which was awesome. I would give 5 stars but it's hard to give that rating when they blender design itself has a major flaw. This is not KaTom's fault by any means this fault is on Vitamix. I will say that if you find yourself in the same situation I was in and in need of replacements thanks to Vitamix's bad design, KaTom is the way to go 100%. Best and most fair price out there and excellent service. I will be a returning customer once our other 2 original blenders break. Also the Amazon pay at checkout was a life saver!

I love how this blender works, it crushes everything you put in and you don't need to strain it.

Excellent Product Stands Up To Use and Abuse

Receives heavy daily use at our juice and smootie bar. We switched to Vitamix about 20 years ago and upgraded to the Quiet One about 10 years ago. We use frozen fruit and many of our newer employees over the years have not been the "sharpest tools in the shed". From over and under-filling to dropping metal spoons in, it has been exposed to everything. Nonetheless this unit has performed flawlessly only needing periodic replacement blades or drive mechanisms which are really easy to change out. I would definitely purchase the Vitamix blade tool. Makes changing the the blade a one minute simple job. .

They don't make em like they used to...

I own 10 of these... I replaced the older model with this one in both of my smoothie places. We put a real beating on these things, and all I can say is that the older model was more durable. I've had issues with 7 of the 10 I bought and they're all still under warranty (you pay $85+ shipping for each repair from year 1 to year 3 of the warranty), and that's just the base units. I've also replaced almost all the pitchers and blade assemblies as they're lighter duty than their predecessors. The bottoms crack and handles break off more often than they should. They do, however, produce a great smoothie when they're working properly. If you're purchasing for lighter duty these would be a great solution, but be wary if you need workhorse blenders. If I could trade these in for the 2010 model I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Great replacement container and ridiculously fast shipping!

I needed a replacement container for my Vitamix finally after about eight years. I cracked mine by dropping it on the floor. I found this one and took a chance on it hoping that it would fit. It fits perfectly and works fine. I was blown away at how fast the shipping was. I didn't even get the tracking information before FedEx showed up with it at my doorstep. I will definitely buy from here again.

Excellent product

This unit exceeded my expectations.

I am purchasing our 3rd one of these!

We purchased another brand for just as much money and it was complicated and didn't blend well. The Vitamix however has helped our coffee shop grow and serves as the best blender for frappes, milkshakes and smoothies. We also use it to chop up ice cream toppers such as cookies and nuts. We couldn't live without it and our biz has doubled in one year. Leading us to purchase our THIRD Vitamix blender. I highly recommend this product.

Doesn't fit the VIta Prep

The screw doesn't match the hole so we could not screw it in. We just placed it in and so far it's holding- does not seem ideal.

Received OEM Vitamix Drive Socket kit with the allen wrench

Received OEM Vitamix Drive Socket kit 5ea.with the allen wrench and the plugs. "Official Vitamix Parts" is written on the official bag. Ordered on Monday evening and in my hand Thursday Morning, and the invoice was prompt by E-Mail.

Not a reliable product

I have had to purchase a large quantity of this item, they just dont last. Found another supplier who has a better quality and the sockets last longer

Works great but already had a stain I cannot get out

The product works great as a replacement. I was not very happy after the first use and there is already a ring inside that I cannot clean out. It looks like I have had it for years and it's less than a month old.

LOVE this blender!

We first purchased a Blendtech which was very difficult to program, very little customer service and the blend left chunks of ice in our smoothies and frappes. After months of issues with the Blendtech we switched to this Vitamix and it is better, faster and quieter. We haven't had ANY issues with the Vitamix. We highly recommend.

This was perfect!

This was exactly what I needed after dropping and shattering my blender canister's base! The blade assembly was easy to attach to this new one, and my vitamix it works perfectly again. I tried drilling holes in the handle to attach the soft handle cover from my original canister, but this one's handle is a little shallower than the one I had. I'm so glad to have been able to buy just the canister!

I received the product just fine, however...

I got exactly what I asked for in a timely manner for a good price, however, I could do without the mass spamming of banner ads from KaTom now infesting every website I visit. A bit heavy handed.

The review by Chef du jour is accurate, and I do use my smaller VitaMix for those needs. However, I use this XL model daily because of its volumn, and time saving convenience.

Best Kitchen Purchase

This is the best money I've spent on any kitchen appliance/gadget. I use it every day and often several times a day. It makes the best smoothies, instant ice cream, smooth sauces, and finely chopped vegetables for many uses. I can't say enough good things about it.
