Globe's Warranty Policies for Mixers
If you own or are planning to purchase a mixer from Globe, you should familiarize yourself with its warranty policies. While no one wants to think about issues with important equipment, Globe understands that manufacturer defects are possible, so it provides customer compensation opportunities for certain failures and defects. However, not everything is covered, and these warranty policies only cover the machines for a certain period. Keep reading to find out if your Globe mixer qualifies for a warranty claim.
Is Your Globe Mixer Covered?
The first thing to consider is the length of Globe's warranty policies. The company states its mixers carry a 2-year limited warranty on parts and labor – with a handful of exceptions.
- Spiral Mixers: 1-year parts-only warranty on mixer hook, excludes wear items (e.g., belts)
- Planetary Mixers: 1-year parts-only warranty on mixer agitators and hub accessories, excludes wear items
In addition to the above parameters, Globe also outlines some general restrictions and limitations regarding the kinds of damage that don't fall under its responsibility. Read these exclusions carefully before determining whether or not your mixer qualifies for a warranty claim.
- Accidents: Damage caused by natural events such as fire or water, or events such as theft, vandalism, or accidents (including damage during delivery) is not covered by Globe.
- Improper Installation: Closely follow the included instructions for your mixer. Globe accepts no responsibility for issues due to incorrect installation.
- Unauthorized Repairs: If your mixer needs repairs or replacement parts, ensure the work is done by an authorized Globe servicer. If repairs are done by an outside party or using parts from another manufacturer, the warranty will be voided.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Routine tasks such as regular upkeep, lubrication, and cleaning are the operator's responsibility. Issues arising from the negligence of these tasks are not covered by Globe's warranty.
- Expendable Parts: Certain components of Globe mixers are intended to be replaced periodically and are therefore not covered by the warranty. These components include bowls, flat beaters, wire whips, and dough hooks.
One of the most important things to note is Globe's warranty policies are only valid for the original purchase from a retail dealer and can't be transferred to anyone else.
Filing a Warranty Claim with Globe
If your mixer is experiencing an issue and meets all the above restrictions and requirements, you may reach out to Globe for fulfilment of your warranty claim. However, make sure you have registered your mixer. Within 30 days of original installation, you must complete and submit Globe's digital installation/warranty registration, as your warranty will not begin until Globe has received your registration form.
Because Globe may make changes to its warranty policies at any time, remember to compare this article to the most recent warranty information published on Globe's own website or in the literature included with your mixer.
