Southbend BGLM-40 Description

Ideal for high-volume, institutionalized cooking, the Southbend BGLM-40 tilt skillet can be used in any operation that needs a solution for large-batch cooking. It can be used for boiling, simmering, steaming, frying, griddling, and other common applications.

The unit has a 40-gallon-capacity pan, and with a stainless steel construction and polished finish, it is efficient to clean. To further ease cleanup, the pan has coved corners to eliminate cracks and crevices. In the pan, the 3⁄4-inch cooking surface's triple-ply design utilizes its metal core to create a uniform heat pattern, and the pan's etched measurement marks enable users to precisely portion ingredients that are added to product.

The cover on this Southbend BGLM-40 tilting skillet keeps heat around the product, and its spring-assisted design supports opening and closing. A handle spans across the front of the cover, and after the product in the skillet is cooked, the pan can be tilted to move the contents into another vessel. Because the tilting mechanism is manual, it might not move as smoothly as an electrically powered mechanism. The pan's sloped design helps product move to the front quickly when it is tilted.
