Depending on ambient air and incoming water temperatures, the Koolaire KYT0400A/K570 half-cube ice maker with bin can produce 450 pounds of half-cube ice daily. This type of ice cools drinks and melts more quickly than full-cube ice. Since the unit's condenser is air cooled, it uses fans to chill the evaporator. Its exterior functions like stainless steel in that it resists smudges and rust. Its food zone, which includes any area that touches water and ice, is sealed to prevent dirt and debris buildup. White plastic components in the food zone clearly reveal dirt so that staff can clean it. Most of the unit's internal parts can be removed without tools.

The Koolaire KYT0400A/K570 ice machine with bin can store 532 pounds of ice. Its door is insulated with foam to reduce condensation and keep ice frozen, and when staff are scooping, the door can stay open on its own. This bin has an exterior finish that resembles stainless steel and black side panels that coordinate with the ice machine. An 82-ounce scoop is provided, and its built-in holder creates a sanitary storage space. All four legs can be adjusted to provide room for sweeping underneath the unit.
