In the proper conditions, the Koolaire KDT1700W/K970 full-cube ice machine with bin can produce 1,765 pounds of full-cube ice daily. Full-cube ice is great for alcoholic drinks since it melts slowly, measuring 0.875 inch by 0.875 inch by 0.875 inch. This ice maker has a water-cooled condensing unit that pumps water to the condenser coils to chill the refrigerant. Looking and and feeling like stainless steel, the unit's exterior protects against rust and fingerprints.

Known as the food zone, all areas that come into contact with ice and water are sealed to prevent bacteria from growing in the crevices. This area has white plastic parts, so dirt and slime can be quickly spotted. By taking out two screws and lifting off the door, the food zone can be taken apart for cleaning. Most other internal components can be removed without tools, and the cleaning cycle is initiated with the push of a button.

The Koolaire KDT1700W/K970 ice maker with bin can store 882 pounds of ice and has an insulated door to keep the contents frozen while reducing condensation buildup. Since this door has a stay-open design, it will not fall on the user when scooping. Its exterior mimics stainless steel and resists smudges, and its side panels are black to match the ice machine. An 82-ounce scoop is included with a built-in holder that provides a separate space to store the scoop. To suit various heights and uneven floors, the bin's legs can be adjusted.
