The Koolaire KDT0500W-161/K570 ice machine head can produce anywhere from 420 to 533 pounds, depending on ambient air and incoming water temperatures. Full-cube ice is perfect for bagged ice and drinks since it melts slowly. However, it does not cool liquids as quickly as smaller ice types. Water that will soon become ice flows through the food zone, so this area should be cleaned on a regular basis to avoid scale buildup. Its components can be removed to aid in maintenance and sanitation and are accessible through the lift-off door. The exterior's finish is heavy duty and protects the unit from scratches and dents.

Its ice bin can store 532 pounds of ice and its door is insulated to prevent ice from melting quickly. For simple scooping, this door stays open on its own. A holder for the scoop sits right inside the bin, enabling operators to comfortably reach it and prevent contaminants from contacting the ice. Adjustable legs stabilize the Koolaire KDT0500W-161/K570 ice bin on uneven surfaces, and its black side panels have a corrosion-resistant finish.

How It Works

• Water curtain must be closed and the toggle switched to "ice"
• Water in the trough is removed by the purge cycle
• Refrigerant lines chill the evaporator plate
• Evaporator plate freezes any water that flows over it
• Water flow turns off after running over the ice thickness float switch for a set amount of time
• Ice sheet thickness is measured by the harvest float switch
• Ice is released when the evaporator plate warms slightly
