Producing full-cube ice, the Koolaire KDT0420A/K420 ice maker with bin is ideal for operations that sell a large amount of drinks. This ice type melts slowly, though it also cools drinks slowly. Ice in the machine head forms when the evaporator plate is cooled by refrigerant running through the coils, freezing the water running over the evaporator plate. In 24 hours, the unit can make 440 pounds of ice in ideal air and water conditions.

The ice machine head has a food zone to house components that come in contact with water and ice. These parts need to stay clean to ensure ice does not get contaminated, and operators can access these components by removing the lift-off door. Components are made of corrosion-resistant plastic, and since they are white, users can see when cleaning is required. Some of the important parts are removable, which simplifies the cleaning process.

The bin can hold 383 pounds of ice, and an 82-ounce scoop is included. Users can store the scoop in the internal holder, which keeps the unsanitary handle out of stored ice. Foam insulated to retain cold air, the stay-open door prevents quick ice melting and condensation buildup. With a stainless steel-like exterior finish, the Koolaire KDT0420A/K420 ice machine with bin is corrosion resistant and reduces fingerprint visibility. Legs elevate the bin off the floor, adjusting to accommodate uneven floors.
