The True TUC-27-HC-LP undercounter refrigerator is built with a low-profile design that gives it a working height of 31⁷⁄₈ inches, meaning it can be slid under countertops that are lower than usual. A stainless steel front, top, and sides keep this unit durable and efficient to clean, while an aluminum interior liner and stainless steel floor ensure corrosion resistance. Insulation throughout the cabinet and door provide structure and block heat from entering the cabinet. To conserve energy, the door self-closes when opened less than 90 degrees, while its magnetic gasket seals cold air inside the cabinet. Chilled product can sit on the floor and on two adjustable wire shelves.

Condenser and evaporator fans move air through the True TUC-27-HC-LP undercounter refrigerator's cabinet so that all products are cooled to a set temperature between 33 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature is maintained by R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant moving through a self-contained capillary tube system. If the unit is used to hold acidic foods, the evaporator's epoxy coating prevents rust, and when maintenance is needed, the condensing unit can be pulled out of the refrigerator's back.

To lengthen the lifespan of the unit, the compressor’s fan motor blows air in reverse for 20 seconds every cycle; this function removes dust and buildup from the condensing coil. When combined with regular preventive maintenance, this self-cleaning feature helps optimize efficiency, improve performance, and reduce energy consumption.
