Additional pans can be stored in the drawers, and each drawer can hold one 12-inch-long by 18-inch-wide by 6-inch-deep food storage box, which is sold separately. For durability and corrosion resistance, most of the unit is constructed of stainless steel, while structure is provided by the polyurethane insulation because it is foamed in place. To prepare sandwiches, salads, and ingredients, this unit comes with a full-length, polyethylene cutting board.

Using R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant in its capillary tube system, this True TSSU-48-12D-4-HC prep table maintains a set temperature between 33 and 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Consistent airflow is ensured by the evaporator fan motor and large fan blades, and for accessibility, the condensing unit slides out from the back for cleaning and servicing. Removing excess dust and debris from the condensing coil, the condensing fan motor reverses for 20 seconds each time the compressor starts up. When the coil is kept clean, the unit's lifespan is extended and its efficiency is increased. Although this feature is self-cleaning, users should still perform maintenance regularly.
