The refrigeration system in the True STA2RPT-2S-2S-HC two-section reach-in refrigerator uses environmentally friendly R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant to maintain cold temperatures. Depending on how the electronic controller is set, the temperature can be between 33 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Condenser and evaporator fans circulate cold air, and their motors are efficient with little heat production and energy use. Since the system is mounted on the top, it is out of the food zone to maximize space and sits away from floor debris.

To improve the unit's function, the condensing coil is cleaned with a reverse condensing fan motor. Each time the compressor turns on, the fan motor reverses for 20 seconds to blow away dust, dirt, and debris. Although this feature is automatic, it doesn't replace the need for routine maintenance.
