Because of its remote design, the Manitowoc Ice IYF1800C 161A Indigo® NXT™ QuietQube® ice machine head requires a separate purchase of a Cool Vapor Defrost® (CVD) condensing unit, interconnecting refrigerant lines, and an ice storage bin. This head can produce between 1,440 and 1,660 pounds of half-cube ice in 24 hours, depending on ambient air and incoming water temperatures. Acoustical ice-sensing probes and the active-sense system monitor ice production to ensure consistently sized cubes are continuously harvested. Users can program production to halt during slow periods or increase during peak hours. Due to its remote structure, noise is minimized, so it can be used in kitchens or near customer seating without creating disruptions.

The Manitowoc Ice IYF1800C 161A ice maker head has a DuraTech® exterior, which provides corrosion resistance and features a clear coat that conceals unsightly fingerprints and dirt to ease cleaning. Users have full access to the foodzone by opening the hinged door, and key components such as the water trough, distribution tube, splash guard, water probe, and water pump can be removed for interior cleaning. Some parts are treated with AlphaSan® antimicrobial to slow bacterial growth between cleanings. Its front-mounted easyTouch® display features an accessible touchscreen design that provides diagnostic feedback, preventive maintenance updates, and temperature settings for smooth operation. Designed to fit on top of a separately sold ice storage bin, it measures 30 inches wide by 24 1⁄2 inches deep by 29 1⁄2 inches high.
