Groen AH/1E-60 60 gal. Steam Kettle - Stationary, 2/3 Jacket, Liquid Propane

The Groen AH/1E-60 steam kettle has a 60-gallon capacity, ideal for cooking large batches of soups, stews, gravies, rice, and other popular dishes, while taking less effort to provide a more even heat pattern than cooking on a range. The jacket—a hollow space between the interior and exterior—fills with water and covers the lower two-thirds of the kettle body, while steam in the kettle is self-contained. With this design, it does not heat as evenly as a fully jacketed unit, but it saves more water and power.

The interior liner in the kettle is made of 316 stainless steel, which provides superior corrosion resistance and supports cooking with tomato-based and other acidic products. The insulated body, sheathed in stainless steel, keeps heat inside and prevents the outer shell from getting hot to the touch. Operators can drain off broths and stock through the 2-inch tangent draw-off valve, which integrates a strainer that prevents solid food clogging the component and streamlines interior cleaning. A faucet bracket is included, so users can add a single-pantry or double-pantry faucet to the unit, enabling access to a constant supply of hot or cold water or both hot and cold water.

The controls on this Groen AH/1E-60 stationary steam-jacketed kettle are front mounted in a water-resistant enclosure. This set of switches and indicator lights includes a regulating thermostat that enables the user to set the temperature between 150 and 270 degrees Fahrenheit. Safety features in the kettle turn off the unit if the water level in the jacket is too low or if the jacket pressure is too high.
