Griptite Trays: Your Non-skid Serving Solution

Carlisle Griptite Trays

A leading provider of plastic dinnerware and serveware for more than 50 years, Carlisle continues its tradition of innovating products to make foodservice easier, safer, and more sanitary. When it comes to helping servers safely carry food and beverages from the kitchen or bar to guests' tables, restaurants can rely on Carlisle Griptite™ 2 trays, a line of serving trays designed to safely transport glasses, plates, and other serving items.

About Carlisle Griptite Trays

Griptite trays are made of fiberglass, a type of plastic reinforced by glass fibers, and given a treatment that creates a non-skid surface. That surface grips the base of the glass, plate, bowl, and other serveware set on it, so they won't slide or tip over during transport. Although the angle of the tray's grip depends on the size and shape of the items being carried, Carlisle's engineers estimate that a beverage glass filled with water can be safely held on the Griptite tray at an angle as steep as 34 degrees. These serving trays can help ensure the ambience of a restaurant's dining room won't be disturbed by the noise or mess caused by spilled drinks or dropped dinnerware. They can also help operators reduce the cost of replacing items that are damaged by being dropped.

Commercial foodservice operations are hectic operations that require long-lasting equipment, so Carlisle's tray design accounts for the possibility of the trays themselves being dropped. In addition to being made from a heavy-duty material that won't warp or break, the sides of the trays are coated to preserve a like-new appearance for as long as possible. Griptite trays are also resistant to stains and odors.

To get the most out of these NSF-certified trays, Carlisle recommends the following dos and don'ts of cleaning and using them.

DO clean your trays each day, or as frequently as possible. Daily cleaning will prevent oils and proteins from building up on the non-skid surface and potentially lessening its gripping abilities.

DO clean Griptite trays in a commercial dishwasher. If a commercial dishwasher is not available, regularly wash your trays in a non-abrasive dishwashing liquid with a woven plastic pad or a plastic brush.

DON'T clean trays with chlorine bleach or other abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or metal scouring pads.

DON'T expose trays to open flames or temperatures exceeding 200 degrees Fahrenheit, including heat that may be generated by hot plates or heat lamps. Trays should always be placed 24 inches away from a heat lamp, and should not be placed under a heat lamp for longer than 10 minutes.

Griptite trays come with Carlisle's limited five-year warranty. However, chipping, scratching, and other wear-and-tear damage, as well as damage caused by improper use, are not covered by this warranty.
