How to Use the Hatco Decorative Lamp Configurator

The Hatco decorative lamp configurator is a tool that lets operators design their own lamps for their restaurants, bars, event spaces, and more. This tool takes you through seven steps to help guide the decision-making process – currency, electric, component, design, length, quantity, and extras – and generate a quote for the final product. We’ll take you through these steps and explain how to maximize your experience below.

Step 1: Currency

In this step, you start by picking the currency you plan to pay with. The five options are:

  • U.S. dollars
  • Canadian dollars
  • Euros
  • GB pounds (also called British pound sterling)
  • Hong Kong dollars

Step 2: Electric

The second step lets operators choose their desired voltage and wattage. The six options available are divided into two categories, 120V and 240V, with three in each voltage:

  • DLL: luminaire, for lighting only
  • DL: standard wattage, can be used for brief food holding
  • DLH: high wattage, provides more heat than standard wattage, also for brief food holding

NOTE: 240V lamps are for customers outside North America as these lamps cannot be installed in the United States and Canada.

Step 3: Component

Step 3 includes mounting, shade style, and switch options. Remote switches let operators turn the lamps on from a distance while the upper and lower switches require users to directly touch the product. The mounting styles are available in four different configurations: C, R, S, and AS units.

  • C: cord mounts to canopy (CT units cord mount to track adapter)
  • R: retractable cord mount (RT units cord mount to track adapter)
  • S: rigid stem mount to canopy (ST units cord mount to track adapter)
  • AS: at install only, limited height adjustments with rigid stem mount to canopy (AST units cord mount to track adapter)

Step 4: Design

This step covers 5 components: shade color, canopy color, track adapter, cord color, and bulb. Operators can choose between designer colors, gloss finishes, and plated finishes in various colors for the shade and canopy. Customizing lamps with color and style can help reinforce branding to guests and enhance the dining experience.

Step 5: Length

Step 5 lets operators pick their desired unit and lead length. Lead length determines the distance between bulb to the dining table, food, and more. Choosing the incorrect length can impact brief food holding and ambiance. Once chosen, move onto step 6.

Step 6: Quantity

In this step, select how many decorative lamps or luminaires you need for your establishment. The amount of lamps determines how many plates you can hold and display at one time.

Step 7: Extras

Track bars, kits, and extra bulbs are chosen in this step, though be aware that some lamps don't have track bar or kit selections. After you've made your selections in step 7, verify all the information you've entered is correct.

Next, it's time to hit the green "Get Quote" button. Once you receive your quote, enter your project name, contact name, and contact email address. After your information is submitted, one of KaTom's customer care specialists will reach out to finalize your Hatco lamp order.
