Low-density polyethylene can be used with food, as can its stronger counterpart, linear low-density polyethylene. High-density polyethylene doesn't meet the FDA and USDA requirements for use with unpackaged food, but is a durable alternative commonly used in retail and industrial settings. Polypropylene is ideal for keeping products fresh thanks to its vapor and moisture barriers, and its translucence makes displaying products simple.

• Bottom Seal: Bottom-seal bags can be flat or gusset style and are often suggested for heavy-duty uses because they provide the strongest seals. As part of the short-run custom bag program, this bag cannot be printed on, but can be sold in custom sizes in orders from 50 to 500 bags.
