Atosa commercial equipment warranties

About Atosa Warranties

While Atosa warranties vary by equipment type, they generally cover defects in materials and workmanship during the specified warranty period. Refrigeration equipment, ice machines, cooking equipment, food-prep equipment, and stainless steel fabricated products each have different warranty terms. When purchasing equipment, confirm the applicable coverage and keep the model number, serial number, proof of purchase, installation date, and any defect details available in case a claim is needed.

Atosa Warranty Terms by Equipment Type

Warranty terms can vary within equipment categories. Confirm specific coverage policies before purchasing a unit. Below are Atosa's general equipment policies:

  • Refrigeration equipment: 3 years parts and labor, plus 2 additional years on the sealed compressor for 5 years total
  • Ice machines: 2 years parts and labor, plus 3 additional years on the sealed compressor for 5 years total
  • Chest freezers: 1 year parts and labor, plus 4 additional years on the sealed compressor for 5 years total
  • CookRite cooking and holding equipment: 1 year parts and labor
  • PrepPal mixers, slicers, and meat grinders: 1 year parts and labor
  • MixRite stainless steel fabrication equipment: 90-day limited warranty

What Atosa Warranties Cover

Within the applicable term, Atosa may repair or replace defective covered parts and assemblies. Labor coverage includes standard straight-time labor and reasonable travel time, as determined by Atosa. For refrigeration and ice machines, the extended compressor coverage applies only to sealed compressor parts; it doesn't extend to the cabinet, finish, temperature controls, refrigerant, metering device, motor-starting equipment, fan assembly, or other components.

How to Submit a Warranty Claim

Claims for parts or labor must be made directly through Atosa. Provide the unit's model and serial numbers, proof of purchase, installation date, and a description of the defect. For a compressor replacement, Atosa may also require the compressor or compressor tag to be returned. Failure to follow the claim requirements will void the claim.

Atosa models its equipment around straightforward serviceability. If your appliance should need repair, parts are readily available and inexpensive, enabling service providers to make quicker and cheaper fixes. Likewise, labor is easily accessible, since Atosa doesn't require manufacturer-specific service partners that premium brands often rely on.

Warranty Exclusions & Conditions

Atosa warranties are nontransferable, applying only to the original purchaser or user. They don't cover consequential damages, including economic loss, lost profits, or food and product spoilage. Coverage may be voided or excluded if equipment is altered, neglected, abused, misused, damaged in transit or installation, or damaged by fire, flood, or acts of God. Warranty coverage doesn't apply to products sold or used outside the continental United States and Canada.

Additional warranty conditions:

  • Follow required routine maintenance on refrigeration and ice equipment.
  • Use proper electrical connections, and plug large units directly into outlets rather than power strips or extension cords. Warranties on refrigeration, ice, and PrepPal equipment exclude damage caused by electrical power failure, low voltage, or voltage drops to the unit.
  • Adhere to the required compressor service procedures, including replacing the drier when the system is opened and using the proper refrigerant and lubricant. Obtain the compressor through Atosa unless Atosa authorizes another source in writing.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, as well as proper installation, cleaning, and control protection on MixRite stainless steel fabrication units. Coverage on MixRite units excludes plastic and nonmetallic synthetic parts that wear through normal use.
  • A 25-percent restocking fee may be charged to the buyer for returns. Returns will only be permitted within 90 days of purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do Atosa refrigeration warranties last?

Most refrigeration equipment is covered by a 3-year parts-and-labor warranty and an additional 2-year sealed-compressor warranty, for 5 total years of compressor coverage. Chest freezers are covered by a 1-year parts-and-labor warranty plus 4 additional years of compressor coverage.

When does my Atosa warranty start?

Warranty periods begin on the date equipment ships from Atosa. For equipment sold by a stocking dealer, Atosa permits as many as 6 months of in-stock time before the sale to the purchaser or user. Because KaTom drop-ships Atosa products, warranties on equipment purchased through KaTom generally start upon shipment from Atosa. Retain your order documentation and the unit information to confirm warranty eligibility.

What do I need to file an Atosa warranty claim?

Contact Atosa directly and provide the model number, serial number, proof of purchase, installation date, and details about the defect. Compressor claims may also require return of the compressor or compressor tag. Reach out to KaTom's Warranty Team for warranty claim assistance.

Can I transfer an Atosa warranty if I sell the equipment?

No. Atosa warranties are nontransferable and apply only to the original purchaser or user.

Are certain parts of Atosa equipment ineligible for warranty coverage?

It depends. The parts and labor warranty on refrigeration and ice equipment applies to all new refrigerated components, including the cabinet and all parts. On MixRite fabricated equipment, however, the warranty doesn't apply to plastic and nonmetallic synthetic parts that need to be replaced under normal wear and tear.
