The Koolaire KYT1000A/K570 ice maker with bin has a highly accessible food zone with white plastic built into areas that touch ice and water to show if the unit is dirty. The exterior of the ice maker and bin has a finish that is similar to stainless steel and resists smudges and corrosion. Its air-cooled, self-contained condenser uses fans to blow cold air across the condenser and chill the equipment. This process freezes water in the evaporator so that it can produce half-size cubes measuring 0.375 inch by 1.125 inches by 0.875 inch. Without using tools, users can remove the distribution tube, pump, water shield, floats, and trough for maintenance and cleaning.

For stability, the Koolaire KYT1000A/K570 ice maker with bin has four legs that can adjust to various heights. The bin's interior is constructed of polyethylene, which is resistant to water, and its stay-open door does not close on the user when he or she is scooping ice. Insulated with foam, the sides block out heat and keep ice frozen. An 82-ounce scoop is included with the unit, and an internal scoop holder ensures germs from the scoop do not contaminate the ice.
