To ensure solid foods are ground to small pieces for streamlined draining, its stationary shredder ring features four machine-ground, primary-action breaker bars and 42 secondary-action grinding teeth, while its Ni-Resist flywheel has a breaker blade that deters food from riding on its center. If contents get jammed in the flywheel, users can manually reverse its rotation. The flywheel's two replaceable, hardened stainless steel cutter blocks can be replaced and indexed for new cutting edges as needed.

The Hobart FD4/75-2 commercial garbage disposer features a long, 8 3⁄8-inch-high upper housing and measures 7 inches in diameter by 21 3⁄4 inches high overall. While its corrosion-resistant aluminum grind and discharge housings provide durability, the motor's ball bearings are permanently lubricated for streamlined operation. This unit can be attached to a 7-inch I.D. throat-opening cone and includes a chrome-plated tailpieces for connection to a 1 1⁄2-inch standard drain trap. To prevent disruptive vibration and noise transmission, a vinyl isolating ring prevents metal from touching at the cone's mounting point.
