Solid performer

We purchased this recently to replace a 30+ year old Hobart 1712. While that beast might be functional again, we couldn't wait to see if it could be fixed. We chose the model because it was the closest in feature set to what it was replacing. It has the bonuses of more adjustability within the automatic mode (speed and stroke length), easy to clean underneath and the removable blade feature witch makes it much safer to clean. We chose Katom for the best price and able to get it here fastest. While it did arrive needing a small tweak (the top blade guard magnet wasn't holding the guard down) Hobart sent out a service tech (from NH to VT) who resolved it quickly. We're feeling very good about the choice of brand, model and vendor.

Not reliable

Does a decent job when it works. We bought one in Dec. 2015 and have had it repaired on nearly a monthly basis (10 calls in 11 months) : rinse agent and detergent pumps failing repeatedly, sometimes within a month of replacement, door switch, temperatures problems several times, electronic parts burning out, etc. Various levels of Hobart Canada have told me that this isn't normal, and that they will come up with a plan for compensation, but nothing happens, and I suspect that they've just been stalling until our warranty is up. We spent nearly $7000 on this machine because we were told it was the best, and it's had far more problems than previous dishwashers that cost less than $4000.

Unreliable, terrible service

I purchased this unit 1.5 years ago for use in my commercial kitchen. It's broken three times and twice it was because of a faulty part that Hobart has since replaced, but I still have to pay. There are inadequate servicemen in my area; My machine has been broken three weeks, and I'm still waiting for parts. The serviceman said he's worked on a lot of these units for the same problems. I would NOT buy this again.

What I was looking for

Love the product and use it on a regular basis. Was just what I was looking for.
