Hobart FD4/75-1 Description
This Hobart FD4/75-1 garbage disposer is built with a short upper housing and measures 7 inches in diameter by 205⁄8 inches high overall. It can be fastened to a 7-inch I.D. throat-opening cone beneath a commercial sink, and a vinyl isolating ring prevents metal-to-metal contact near the cone-mounting area to minimize noise and vibrations. For long-lasting resilience, its grind and discharge housings are made of corrosion-resistant heavy aluminum. Its chrome-plated tailpiece enables connection to a 11⁄2-inch standard drain tarp.
For streamlined operation through rigorous use, the Hobart FD4/75-1 commercial disposer is equipped with a 3⁄4-horsepower, continuous-duty motor, a manual-reset thermal overload inherent protector, and permanently lubricated ball bearings. The stationary shredder ring's four primary-action breaker bars and 42 secondary-action grinding teeth work in tandem with the Ni-Resist flywheel to grind solid food waste into small, drainable pieces. The flywheel is built with a breaker blade that prevents food from getting stuck on its center, while its two hardened stainless steel cutter blocks can be replaced and indexed for new cutting edges as needed. To prevent potentially damaging jams, operators can manually control the flywheel's rotation.
