Hobart FD4/150-2 Description
With the flip of a switch, this Hobart FD4/150-2 disposer unit grinds food waste into small particles. This 1 1⁄2-horsepower unit's continuous-duty motor features a manual-reset thermal overload protection mechanism that minimizes damage risk during heavy-duty grinding. To withstand frequent use, its upper and lower shaft support ball bearings are permanently lubricated. While its stationary shredder ring is lined with 40 abrasion-resistant, heat-treated cast ductile iron grinding teeth, its flywheel includes two hardened ductile iron cutter blocks that can be replaced and indexed for new cutting edges.
For long-lasting resilience, the Hobart FD4/150-2 food waste disposer features a heavy ductile iron upper housing and a primed, powder-coated ductile gray cast iron lower housing. This unit can be mounted to a 7-inch I.D. throat-opening cone; its vinyl isolating ring prevents metal-to-metal contact that otherwise would create disruptive vibrations and noise. So the motor unit can be simply removed from the grind chamber, it includes four bolts. This 14 1⁄2-inch-diameter by 27 3⁄8-inch-tall unit is positioned on tubular stainless steel legs with flanged feet that can be adjusted in 3 inches in either direction.
