For resistance to scratches, dents, and corrosion, the exterior of the Hoshizaki KM-1601SWJ3/B-1500SS ice maker and bin is constructed of resilient stainless steel. Its H-Guard Plus® protection inhibits microbial growth, and the bin's seamless polyethylene liner eliminates crevices that could harbor bacteria. To lengthen the unit's lifespan and reduce energy consumption, it runs fewer cycles with a CycleSaver™ system.

The Hoshizaki KM-1601SWJ3/B-1500SS is designed with a stainless steel evaporator and uses R-404A refrigerant. It can produce as much as 1,671 pounds of ice in a day and has a storage capacity of 1,500 pounds in its bin. To alert users of operational problems, it features a EverCheck™ system.
