The Hoshizaki F-1002MRJ flake ice maker uses infrared bin control to guide ice into a bin or dispenser that is sold separately. It produces flake ice, which is a popular choice for high-volume establishments. Using R-404A refrigerant, it creates 907 pounds of ice daily, though if conditions aren't ideal, it makes closer to 722 pounds of ice daily. This unit has a remote condenser, and its greaseless bearing and auger are stainless steel.

To remove sediment and other impurities from ice, the Hoshizaki F-1002MRJ ice machine head performs a 2-second flush cycle every hour. Slowing the spread of germs in a high-touch environment, it's protected with H-GUARD Plus® antimicrobial to slow the growth of microbes and bacteria. To provide durability and resistance to rust and corrosion, the exterior is made of stainless steel.
