Manitowoc Ice IYP1000/D570 Description
The Manitowoc Ice IYP1000-261/D570 Indigo NXT™ ice maker with bin can produce 971 pounds of half-cube ice each day. This amount can be changed to best suit a specific operation according to volume or time of day. Half-cube ice measures 0.375 inch by 1.125 inches by 0.875 inch, so it is perfect for drinks and bagged operations. While half-cube ice is excellent for most applications, it should not be used in drinks that need to stay chilled for a long time since it melts more quickly than larger ice types. Since this unit is air cooled, its fan blows air over the coils as refrigerant moves away from the evaporator to ensure that ice freezes on the evaporator plate. An acoustical sensing probe measures ice thickness to ensure each cycle is uniform.
The ice machine has a touchscreen display that tracks the operating status and alerts. Components for the unit are accessible behind a swing-out door. Some parts are removable for cleaning, and some have antimicrobial technology that protects against bacterial growth. It is foam insulated to prevent quick melting, and its side grips facilitate opening the bin from different angles.
