The Manitowoc Ice IDT-1900N/D-970 Indigo NXT™ ice machine with bin can make 1,900 pounds of ice in 24 hours. This amount can be programmed based on ice volume or operation time. It makes full-cube ice that measures 0.875 inch by 0.875 inch by 0.875 inch, which is perfect for drinks since it melts slowly, but does not cool as quickly as small ice types. Each ice batch is measured by an acoustical ice sensing probe. Users can check the operating status on the touchscreen display; this panel also provides alerts and unit information.

The ice maker components in the food zone are available behind the swing-out door, and some of them can be removed for cleaning. A remote condenser comes with the unit, and it should be installed in a separate location so heat can dissipate away from the ice machine, reducing ambient air temperature and lowering noise levels. This type of condenser can be harder to service than a unit with the condenser in the machine head, since it requires access that may be more difficult to achieve.

The Manitowoc Ice IDT-1900N/D-970 ice maker with bin has an 882-pound storage capacity. An ice scoop is included that has a 5.3-pound capacity and built-in guards to prevent the user's hands from touching the ice and contaminating it. As users scoop ice, the self-latching door hinge holds the door open for convenience. The ice machine head and bin have a stainless steel exterior with a corrosion-resistant clear coating.
