Probe failed
Probe separated from cable on 3rd usage. Used it correctly. Good design. Easy to use. Must calibrate and compensate for temperature accuracy. Don't know if a new probe will fix problem. Questionable durability.
Cooking to an exact internal temo, AWESOME.
I have not had much success with probe thermometers. This one is so cool. I placed it in the center of a thick steak, set the temperature, places it in the oven, (after a dry rub) and it was perfectly rare, not bloody. Let it rest before pulling the thermometer. It is magnetic, takes triple A batteries, which I keep on hand and is very easy to read and hear. It attached to my fridge easier than the oven door, while in operation. I'm very impressed. Have seen Alton Brown use the on hos Good Eats series and thought they were too expensive. Not the case with KaTom. I think I will be a safer cook, using this thermometer. Thank you.
