"I have never owned a "stock pot" of this weight and construction quality, and I'm glad that I do now. Among other characteristics, it holds and distributes heat REALLY well. Three caveats: 1. These stock pots do NOT include the lid, which has to be ordered separately (a bit silly). 2. The diameter is apparently measured at the flared flange at the top; I wish I had ordered the next size "wider." That said, I love the tall profile for multiple lobsters, corn on the cob, etc. 3. Heed the manufacturer's warning about not allowing this stainless pot to sit for long periods with "corrosive" foods like tomato sauce, brine concentrations, etc. It WILL pit, though the resulting marks are primarily cosmetic."
