The Vollrath 40954 automatic slicer is constructed of heavy-duty aluminum and has a 12-inch blade. When slicing, the adjustment knob provides precision and consistency, and a safety guard by the carriage protects user hands from injury. Able to continuously cut processed meats and cheeses, the unit is belt-driven. To reduce drag, the plate has a nonstick coating, which also simplifies cleaning. Users can cut foods repeatedly and comfortably because the unit has a sloped design, and when the blade needs honing, there is a built-in sharpener. To keep the slicer in place, it has rubber feet.
