This structure's posts and traverses have polypropylene coatings, and the five shelf plates are constructed of polypropylene; this material resists rust and corrosion in humid environments. The shelves feature vented surfaces that prompt air to move through the slots and circulate around stored contents to improve airflow. Free-flowing air also eliminates harmful moisture and dust buildup. For lasting product protection, an integrated antimicrobial agent hinders fungal and microbial growth between regular cleanings.

The Cambro CPU246084V5PKG starter shelving system measures 60 inches wide by 24 inches deep by 84 inches high and includes the necessary components for expedited assembly: 10 traverses and two unassembled post kits with molded-in dovetails. Though the steel and polypropylene posts require field assembly, the built-in dovetails remove a tedious installation step that's standard with Cambro's Basics Plus and Elements shelves. Operators can adjust and remove shelves by repositioning the traverses; this is necessary as inventory changes, new products are introduced, and the shelves need to be wiped clean or washed in a dishmachine.
