To expedite assembly, this Cambro CPU244884V5PKG Camshelving® Premium starter shelving unit includes 10 traverses, molded-in dovetails, and two unassembled post kits. Though the four steel and polypropylene posts ship unassembled, the dovetails are built into the posts, eliminating a time-consuming installation step that's required in Cambro's Elements and Basics Plus models. Fully assembled, this unit measures 48 inches wide by 24 inches deep by 84 inches high and features five louvered shelving tiers. The shelves' slotted surfaces let air pass through the gaps and surround stored contents, which helps improve uniform air circulation, maintain even storage temperatures, and minimize moisture and dust accumulation. While each shelf can support 800 pounds, storing more than 2,000 pounds on this unit could affect its structural integrity.

Built for lasting use in various environments, the Cambro CPU244884V5PKG starter shelving unit's shelves are made of polypropylene, while the posts and traverses have steel cores with polypropylene coatings. This material resists rust and corrosion in humid environments and is safe in temperatures from -36 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit for dishroom, pantry, and walk-in freezer or cooler storage. The shelves also are resistant to damage from saltwater and harsh chemicals and contain antimicrobial protection that hinders fungal and bacterial growth between cleanings, which could cause stains or odors. When the shelves get dirty, they can be wiped clean or sanitized in a warewasher.
